Trust Doctor Junior Doctor (CT1+ level)

August 18 - October 18

Applications are welcome to the post of Trust Doctor (CT 1-2 level). This is a full time fixed term appointment.

We are looking for a core surgery level doctor to join our exciting Upper GI surgical team. The post-holder will work closely under the direction of the Upper GI surgery Consultants and Specialist Registrar Trainees with duties to include day-

to-day inpatient care, operating with and assisting senior team members in theatre and attending outpatient clinics. The post holder will also be encouraged to gain experience in endocrine and bariatric surgery by providing junior surgical support for these patients on the wards and assisting in specialist theatres.

The post holder will be encouraged to participate in professional development activities and clinical governance programmes including audit and will have a study fund allocated to him or her for attending courses / conferences.

The post holder will also provide support and leadership to more junior staff on the team. This position offers equal training opportunities for all members of the team and so the post holder can expect to have sufficient training during this post.

The post holder will participate in the night on call rota as part of the Hospital at Night Team (HANT), and will have responsibility for looking after and managing surgical in-

patients across General surgery, Orthopaedics and, on rare occasion, Urology.
