In this job of Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for the provision of sound commercial legal advice our UK&I businesses.
As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for a wide range of legal issues including, tender reviews and responses, NDAs, partner agreements with an emphasis on commercial sales contracts particularly within the UK public sector, education and commercial spaces.
In this job you will also be responsible for other legal matters that may arise from time to time, such as managing HR, property, disputes, banking, corporate housekeeping and commercial / corporate transactions.
What you will do
You will draft, negotiate and review sales contracts to mitigate risk our company, whilst at the same time trying to get the deal done.
Such agreements and contracts would include : Sales, Partnership, Supplier, IP & escrow, tender reviews & responses and non-disclosure.
You will also provide advice to support any legal actions taken either by or against our company (and supporting dispute resolution).
You will support projects within the Unit4 global legal team from time to time.
You will advise on data and security issues (GDPR) for an organisation that processes large volumes of customer information (in the cloud) as part of its service offering.
And you will maintain strong working relationships within the UK&I organisation, with the Sales teams and the global Legal team around the globe.
To be successful in this job of Legal Counsel you have strong technical ability to draft commercial contracts, good negotiation skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
You are good team player and strong communicator.
You are used to be working in a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment with a strong work ethic. Last but not least, you are able to travel where required to our customers and other UK&I offices or the Unit4 Head office in the Netherlands, when required.
You have a minimum of 1+ years PQE, experience with IT contracts and technology marketplace, cloud computing and working with SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS contracts.
You also have experience with advising in relation to data protection issues (particularly GDPR) and public sector procurement and advising public sector customers.
