Senior Fire Engineer - Bristol

The Role

Based in Bristol, you will :

  • Manage your own projects and junior engineers being supported by the wider team as necessary to deliver quality fire safety solutions on time and on budget.
  • Work on a diverse, exciting and range of projects from conceptual fire strategy development through to handing over landmark projects in the built environment.
  • Be responsible for fee proposals, undertaking business development activities and establishing a network of clients / colleagues in Arup, and outside Arup.
  • Manage others in the development and implementation of fire strategies, projects, and research initiatives.
  • The Team

    You will be working with a creative, innovative, multi-cultural and self-motivated team of fire safety consultants throughout the UK and Middle East.

    The successful candidate will complement our fire safety consultants by assisting with the implementation of the fire engineering services on our projects.

    We are supported by Arup Fire engineering teams located in 20 offices around the World.

    Skills / Experience required for the role

  • Degree in fire engineering or equivalent
  • Typically, 5 10 years’ experience in a consultancy or similar environment
  • Be chartered or close to achieving chartership
  • A particular focus on the energy sector would be preferable
  • Extensive experience in delivering fire engineered solutions for UK based projects
  • Be aware of appropriate legislation and design guidance for use in the UK
  • Clearly understand the total fire concept : from the client brief through to construction and operation
  • Strong Project Management and Team Management experience
  • Strong client-facing and presentation skills
  • The ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, working to tight deadlines ad juggling multiple demands
  • Business Development experience and an existing portfolio of clients / contacts in the industry would be of benefit
