We formed our UK life insurance arm in 2008. We’re a young organisation with a fresh, modern outlook, and the backing of the world’s largest insurance company, AIG.

Our business is growing and this is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate with a can-do attitude to join our small but perfectly formed Proposition team of three.

Experience in proposition development in the Financial Services market in pretty crucial at this point in our strategic journey.

Role overview

Reporting to the Head of Marketing you’ll be a key player in the future success of AIG Life bringing innovative new propositions to market that shape the future of our industry.

Protection is our business and this is a high profile role with regular access to the CEO and CFO so a good commercial understanding and the ability to articulate benefits across price, service and product will be important.

You’ll have responsibility for keeping an eye on the competition, delivering and maintaining a portfolio of propositions and leading thinking on proposition development ideas that have the capacity to transform the market as well as do the right thing for our customers.

Managing your propositions to market across the business also means you’ll have a proven ability to build effective relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deliver and maintain a portfolio of market-leading protection propositions within the protection business which supports the achievement of AIGLs short and medium term financial targets
  • Market transforming proposition development ideas and lead a define go to market plan to deliver KPIs
  • Lead and provide comprehensive subject matter expertise into business case development for new initiatives and tender responses to business partners
  • Interface across other channel leads (e.g. partnerships and intermediary) to ensure proposition development enhance partnership agreements and relationships.
  • Deliver a coordinated and comprehensive suite of market and competitor analyses and forecasts together with analyses and forecasts of business unit performance in order to inform proposition design and development
  • Managing our 3rd party relationships with comparison sites (Defaqto, CI Expert etc) and non-contractual benefit providers (Best Doctors and Winston’s Wish),
  • Managing the Product Review Process
  • Representing AIG Life on relevant industry groups
  • Essential :

  • Proven delivery credentials
  • A good understanding of the UK Financial Services (in particular Protection) market and / or proposition development in the direct to consumer market
  • Ability to build business cases and gain buy-in for initiatives though oral and written presentations
  • Desirable :

  • Project management experience and excellent organisational skills
  • Working understanding of customer research and how to identify target segments and generate propositions based on human insight
