Newcross Healthcare is seeking experienced Care Assistants & Support Workers that are already registered with Social Care Wales to work in a residential home setting with children and young adults in Newport and the surrounding areas.

The Caring Role
You will be responsible for a range of tasks designed to help children and young people to live as independently as possible.
The tasks will include assisting service users with clinical requirements, personal care, social activities any other services needed.
The Supporting Role
You will be responsible for providing assistance to children and young people with a range of tasks that will enable them to live as independently as possible.
The tasks will include daily tasks, clinical requirements, social activities and any other services needed.
You will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the rights and well-being of children and young people to ensure that children and young people develop their full potential, in a residential home setting.
Utilising human behaviour, child development and social systems skills you will intervene and care for children who require care away from their families for short or longer periods in their lives.
Skills & Opportunities
Take advantage of a wide range of free training programmes. These can be earned through credits as you work and will include Basic Life Support, BSL or Makaton, Medication Administration, Dementia Care and many more.
You could also work towards a range of National vocational qualifications NVQ / SVQ.
Our Cardiff Team
Located in the capital city of Wales, Newcross Healthcare's Cardiff centre provides registered nurses, experienced care assistants and support workers to the South Wales region including Newport and Bridgend.
About ten percent of the people in Cardiff speak Welsh.
Based at Park Place, the centre is just a short walk from the nearby Cardiff University and Cardiff Queen Street train station.

You must be registered with Social Care Wales to practise in a residential home for children and young people in Wales (mandatory registration introduced 1 March 2008).
If you have a NVQ2 / SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or currently work in a supporting job you could be fast tracked through our recruitment process.
