Senior Project Manager

Birmingham B24 9FD (Travel to other office locations such as Brighton or Reading on average once per week)

Permanent Role- 42-46k depending on experience

Becoming a Senior Project Manager with The Pensions Regulator :

This role reports to the Design and Delivery Director and is core to the ongoing optimisation and development of the Automatic Enrolment services provided by Capita in partnership with The Pensions Regulator.

The scope of the role is to manage the progress of changes to the business requirements and design of business solutions for optimisation and improvement of the AE services.

This may involve multiple projects at a time.

The post-holder will have deep experience of project management in a fast-paced project delivery environment. They will deploy a suite of project management tools and stakeholder management techniques in order to ensure the successful delivery of change initiatives.

The Senior Project Manager will also provide thought leadership to the business teams and to the Contract Senior Management Team in order to identify effective solutions and to inform business priority calls.

This is a hands-on role, with an expectation that project tasks are not only completed by others, but by yourself also.

What you will do : Principle Accountabilities

  • Project Management- manage the end to end from Design through to Live Service
  • Project Delivery Support- support the business and implementation teams and provide progress updates
  • Pipeline development- identify opportunities to optimise and improve service
  • Solution Development & Optimisation- Create proposition documents and provide subject matter expertise
  • Reporting- providing highlight reports to the Design and Delivery Director
  • Benefits Cards- Supporting the development of Business Benefits Definitions and cards for major changes
  • Resource Management- Manage and prioritise the Project Management resources to deliver change initiatives
  • Your experience will include :

  • Delivery of successful programmes / projects in a regulated sector (Ideally 5+ years), e.g. public sector, financial services, utilities.
  • Experience within Outsourced arrangements is also highly desirable

  • Expertise in technical web and CRM related projects- Contact Centre environment experience is highly desirable
  • Methods and techniques associated with planning and monitoring progress of projects; eg : product / work breakdown structures, base lining, critical path analysis, earned value, resource analysis, conflict resolution.
  • The identification, assessment and management of project risks, which could result in time or cost over-runs, or failure to deliver products which are fit for purpose
  • Working with senior stakeholders to ensure the effective and efficient deployment of resources, including reassessment and reallocation in a multi-
  • project environment, to achieve optimum project outputs

  • Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent PM Qualification, alongside working knowledge of Agile and MS Project and Office Suite competencies
  • Essential Traits

  • Contact Centre experience essential
  • Driven, autonomous and capable of working within a matrix managed structure on multiple projects.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident working in the client environment and with multiple disciplinary senior stakeholders.
  • Seeks to improve their work environment through collaboration with management team, colleagues and clients.
