Job Details

£11,994.77 per annum for 27.75 hours per week. The working hours are Monday - Wednesday 2pm - 7pm; Thursday 4pm - 10pm and Friday 9am -

4 : 15pm, term time only.

Please note, for 4 weeks of the 39 weeks per year contract, there will be a slight amendment to working times, as this will be outside of Term Time.

The role is based at Guildford Adult Learning Centre, Sydenham Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 3RX.

About the Role

Surrey Adult Learning delivers a wide range of daytime, evening and Saturday courses and learning opportunities for adults.

  • The provision includes leisure courses, like arts and crafts and languages; qualification courses such as GCSE’s in English and Maths;
  • classes which support those with learning difficulties and / or disabilities and classes aimed at parents / carers to help them support their children and improve their own skills.

    Surrey Adult Learning has seven centres across North and South West Surrey and is looking to appoint a Centre Assistant for its Guildford Centre.

    You will have a strong customer service background together with general administrative experience to ensure the effective operation of the Centre.

    You will also be expected to provide high quality direct customer care for the users of the Centre. Previous experience of a similar customer service role and administration would be advantageous, and you should have an interest in adult learning.

    You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be well organised. Your adaptable style will allow you to work well as part of a team and you will use your with excellent administration skills as you manage your own workload, meeting deadlines and prioritising work as required.

    High standards of accuracy and attention to detail are also required.

    You will need to be able to demonstrate a practical and confident approach as the role involves some lone working.
