What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Technical Consultant with RBC Global Asset Management, you will be responsible for the technical development and support of marketing collateral and client reporting functions for RBC Global Asset Management’s (GAM) institutional businesses in Canada, the US and internationally.

This includes the understanding and support of marketing and client reporting solutions and operational processes using technology platforms including SimCorp Coric and Seismic.

You will have responsibility for ensuring quality, timeliness and innovation in RBC GAM’s approach to client communications.

The role will be involved in delivery of technical needs required for client reporting and marketing collateral production, and alignment of strategic and continuous improvement priorities with GAM’s institutional business partners.

This role will work with vendor and proprietary applications in all phases of the delivery lifecycle as well as provide support through application upgrades.

What will you do?

  • Lead technical resource in marketing collateral and client reporting development.
  • Build and maintain internal applications needed to support reporting functions, coordinating requirements, schedules and final development.

  • Coordinate across global jurisdictions when designing, implementing and supporting client reporting and marketing collateral development needs.
  • Serve as key contact for gathering data requirements, working with the key business stakeholders and project delivery resources.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology for improvements to business processes.
  • Develop technical solutions for these improvements.

  • Work closely with all levels of end users, including executive level staff, to translate functional requirements into technical specs to deliver robust reporting, which will be used to make strategic business decisions.
  • Create and maintain documentation required for the successful execution and delivery of reporting and business process improvements to end business users.
  • Production support for reporting applications, including both vendor and proprietary applications, including troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and applications.
  • Assist in production of client reporting and marketing collateral production and QA, as required.
  • Contributing to the creation and alignment of industry reporting best practices from both a technical and operational perspective.
  • What do you need to succeed?


  • Business degree or equivalent work experience with 15+ years of investment management and / or financial services experience in development, technical programming, system development or reporting
  • Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL and C# development experience
  • Web development experience and experience with Coric or Seismic
  • Investment management and / or financial services development experience and experience working with project management and delivery teams
  • Strong organizational, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and full (all phases of) project management lifecycle experience
  • Nice-to-have

  • NET, Oracle, XML, ETL experience
  • Experience working with FactSet and Bloomberg data feeds and experience working with the Eagle product suite
  • Investment management operations experience
