The Senior Battery Component Engineer will be responsible for systemand component level design as well as validation of battery packs.

This includes the system and functional integration of battery systems within vehicle and powertrain projects. The chosen candidate will have excellent understanding and experience in HV battery system design and development tasks.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Responsible as a senior component engineer in the system and component level (electrical and mechanical) design and validation of battery packs.
  • This includes battery pack integration into vehicle platforms

  • Lead preparation of battery system requirements and specifications and requirements decomposition to component level
  • Lead the preparation of battery system and component quality documentation (boundary diagrams, P diagrams, robustness check lists, FMEAs)
  • Liaise and direct relevant teams to support battery design tasks (i.e. simulation manufacturing, suppliers and SW & controls teams)
  • Create and sign-off drawings of battery pack modules and components
  • Lead the development of test plans both on a system and component level
  • Lead supplier selection process
  • Assess, draw conclusions and define next steps from simulation and testing results
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Support recruitment

  • Your Profile :
  • Essential :
  • Essential :
  • Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar
  • Excellent understanding of HV battery fundamentals
  • Expertise in high voltage battery design and validation
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in system and component design of battery packs, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Strong communication, teamwork and leading abilities
  • Analytical and conceptual capabilities
  • Good written and oral English and competent presentation skills
  • Willingness to travelling
  • Preferable :
  • CAD modelling and drawing capable
  • Member of a relevant professional institute (e.g. IET) and a chartered Engineer
