We place a huge amount of trust in our Social Workers as we look to them to safeguard the most vulnerable children in the county.
In this role, you’ll be called upon to make decisions that will have a big impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of children, young people and families in Cambridgeshire.
It will be up to you to ensure that highly effective assessment is carried out in often complex and sensitive situations, identifying needs and planning and delivering appropriate care and support.
The needs of the child will be at the centre of everything you do, as you make choices based on achieving the best possible outcome in each individual case.
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate sensitivity, vigilance and professionalism in equal measure. Your experience as a qualified and HCPC registered social worker will give you the confidence to make tough decisions in challenging situations.
You will never be alone in your work, and your outstanding communication skills will allow you to form highly effective working relationships with members of your team and third parties.
We want people who are going to contribute positively to the work we do and the environment we’ve created. A can-do attitude and flexible approach goes a long way with us, especially when accompanied by a smile.
If you have the confidence to make decisions that matter and pride yourself on your great ideas, no matter how small, then we want to hear from you.
We achieve positive outcomes through dedicated, innovative and collaborative care. We’ve created a service that places the needs of vulnerable children and families at the centre of everything we do, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and support.
The tireless work that we’ve put into the service has reaped significant results; a good rating in our most recent Ofsted inspection places us in the top 25% of the country.
In every aspect of the council, we promote a culture in which our people feel continually supported, in their work, in their lives and in pursuing their ambitions.
We also believe firmly in empowering our people to make big decisions that impact our service users.
We have developed an environment where all staff are listened to, opinions and ideas are valued and anyone can influence the future of their service.
Based in the incredible city of Cambridge and surroundings areas, we take as much pride in our work as we take in our stunning surroundings.
With such an iconic location, happy environment and supportive culture, Cambridgeshire County Council is somewhere where you can achieve great things.
