Role Context :
The role holder will be a member of the Global Investment Specialists (GIS) team at Aberdeen Standard Investments.
Operating between Investment and Sales / Clients teams, the GIS team is an integral part of Distribution and ensures that, in each asset class, we deliver 1) insightful and relevant investment information, 2) credible client facing PM proxy resource and 3) strategic client-
led input into investment and product development.
The role holder’s primary reporting line will be to the Head of Equity Investment Specialists although they will also form part of a pool of Associate Specialists working across asset classes contributing to cross functional output.
Role Purpose :
To work closely with the relevant Equity Investment Specialist team to assist the achievement of agreed sales objectives in both quantum and product focus specifically by ensuring the transfer of Equity investment knowledge to the generalist sales and client teams.
This role will have particular remit for GEM and Asia strategies and will sit with the Equity Investment team.
Core Outcomes :
Work as part of the broader Global Investment Specialist team to engage with Distribution globally to grow the Firm’s AuM with clients, prospects and consultants alike.
Actively promote Equity product and solutions by overseeing the preparation of tailored materials and reports and to ensure that ad-
hoc investment queries from Distribution are responded to in a timely, accurate and consistent manner.
Identify and communicate the strengths of each investment proposition, ensure consistency of key messages, understand and evaluate industry landscape and the key competition.
Ensure that distribution understands, and remains fully aware of Aberdeen Standard Investment’s Equity capabilities.
Specifically this role will support and create investment content for client queries, presentations (process, review & outlook), RFPs, retention material and any other marketing support requirement.
This would also include any internal requirements such as coordinating the content for the quarterly internal Global Investment Group meetings.
The candidate would be expected to understand the investment process and to be familiar with fund holdings and positioning primarily through attending investment team meetings and reading supporting investment papers.
The candidate would also be expected to read widely on economic and political trends to support market review, outlook and thought pieces.
