Assistant Tax Manager
Avis Budget Group is looking for an Assistant Tax Manager to work as part of our International tax department where you will have exposure to corporate tax and VAT matters across the EMEA and Asia Pacific territories for Avis Budget Group.

As Assistant Tax Manager, you will be part of a small team which provides corporate tax and VAT input to the business for strategic initiatives and supports the EMEA country finance teams.
The team monitors the corporate tax charge for all entities in the EMEA group, as well as working closely with our US head office tax team on quarterly and annual reporting.
As Assistant Tax Manager, your role will primarily be to support the Head of EMEA Tax and EMEA Tax Manager with management of the UK compliance and EMEA transfer pricing policy and documentation.
You will also gain from exposure on corporate tax and VAT aspects of commercial projects and acquisitions. This role will require you to work across a global environment which will give you regular exposure to finance teams and other stakeholders in the international region and the US.
As Assistant Tax Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills in UK and international tax and in transfer pricing, as well as developing your knowledge as to how tax can positively influence commercial projects.
The role will comprise approximately 40% UK tax compliance, including responsibility for c. 30 UK company tax returns and tax administration (e.
g. managing withholding tax forms / claims). The role will encompass country-focussed work including supporting smaller country finance teams on tax matters and EMEA transfer pricing.
The role also involves management of local advisors in the Netherlands and the Middle East. There are opportunities to take on some responsibilities for ad hoc business-
related tax support to projects.
To apply for this role, you will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with strong tax accounting experience. To operate successfully in our fast-
paced business it’s also vital that you possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work as a team player, and that you are comfortable with a varied workload.
