Position Overview :
The Category Manager willutilize their deep sourcing and supplier management experience to help ourcustomers drive tangible results.
The position would act as part of GEP’s Global Delivery Consulting Group and will be responsible for category management services including, but notlimited to, Category Strategy development, strategic sourcing, clientstakeholder management, supplier performance management, and continuous costand performance improvement to our strategic clients.
Additionally, you willdevelop and provide category market insight to the GEP’s Category Advisory Groups (CAG’s) team for internalcapabilities development.
The ideal candidate for this position must enjoy working in afast-paced environment along with other bright and motivated individuals.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for :
Building long termcategory strategies for your clients based on a thorough understanding of theircurrent state, and the external market environment
Conductingopportunity assessments for new clients or for new addressable areas forexisting clients, including budgeting and sourcing wave plans that supportoverall savings target achievement
Using innovative,and category specific procurement levers to drive value for your client
Interfacing andcommunicating with project team, management, and stakeholders, and providesupport with respect to Supplier Management / Procurement processes and policies.
Leading allsupplier selection and procurement activities (e.g. RFI, RFP, RFQ, Scorecardand Bid Analysis, etc.)
Negotiation ofsupplier contracts utilising client contract templates & procedures
Ownership of ThirdParty Vendor performance (SLA’s / KPI’s) and supplier relationship management.Establish metrics, monitor on-
going vendor performance, addressing any servicefailures expeditiously and provide aggregate reporting on supplier performance
Anticipatingproblems before they occur; defining the problem or risk; identifying possiblecauses; working with team to identify solutions;
selecting and implementingmost appropriate solution.
Cooperating withand contributing to the development of Centre of Excellence (CoE) team(s)
Qualifications / Experience :
Bachelor’s Degreein a quantitative discipline (business / finance / economics / engineering / mathematics)or equivalent
Post-Graduatedegree preferred or relevant industry certifications are desired (MCIPS / CPM / CPSM / CSCP / CPIM).
Three (3) to five (5)years of experience in a category management, procurement, and / or supply chainfunction
Strong customerservice orientation
Proficiency in MSOffice (e.g. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint) and Procurement software’s such asSAP, Ariba or other ERP systems
High degree ofmotivation
Ability toprioritise and self-direct
Strong businessacumen and sound interpersonal skills
Excellentcommunication, analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt tothe varied corporate cultures and organizational structures of our customers
Proven ability tobuild, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
