The Role :
The purpose of the role is to provide analytical insight on claims and counter-fraud performance, thereby enabling the business to deliver competitive prices to customers and achieve our vision of 1 in 10 by 2020.
The overall goal is to help us build for the future as the team and organisation continue to grow, supporting leadership and operations through the development and delivery of robust MI and analytical insight into claims and counter fraud performance, enabling the business to monitor, understand and communicate the drivers of performance, control indemnity and operational spend, and target improvement activities on areas of greatest value.
Your remit will include the following :
Providing MI and analytical support to Insurer Services leadership and operations through the delivery of regular management information, and specific analytical projects / reports, with actionable insight
Develop intelligent hypotheses and use structured thinking to break problems down, translating this into clear project proposals and plans with clear timelines
Provide ad hoc information and insight to internal stakeholders
Help to build analytical capability within the team
Review the quality of the work undertaken, by yourself and colleagues, to ensure analytical objectives have been met and that the data provided is of high integrity
Required experience :
Strong track record of taking a proactive approach in identifying opportunities to improve performance and solve these through a combination of quantitative analysis and business insight, delivering clear actionable recommendations
Confidence in building networks throughout the business, liaising at a senior level, and driving change
Ability to develop intelligent hypotheses and use structured thinking to break problems down
Confidence using various analytical methods to deliver your work, accepting challenge from senior stakeholders and promoting analytical excellence within the team
Highly numerate and IT literate, with a genuine passion for data
Have an inquisitive nature, coupled with strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential for the role
Ability to drive forward projects and structure the journey to ensure stakeholder requirements are met
Excellent communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Advantageous experience :
Education to degree level, or equivalent (preferably mathematically based)
Experience within insurance or the financial services sector
Experience using statistical or reporting packages (e.g. R / Python / SPSS / Tableau)
