We are now looking for a number of experienced senior strategy, policy and intelligence professionals to join our newly created corporate service.
You will drive forward a significant organisational and partnership change programme, enabling us to deliver our vision, continue our improvement journey, and maintain constant focus on what matters to our residents.
To lead the provision of Strategy and Policy services in relation to a designated client Directorate, ensuring the success of relevant services and a positive contribution to the Council’s strategic goals.
To provide strategic leadership to and operational management to the assigned part of the Strategy & Policy function, working collaboratively as a key part of the wider divisional and client directorate management teams.
To provide expert advice to senior officers, members and partners in policy and strategy, managing risk, designing interventions, solving problems and responding to external frameworks, opportunities, risks and events.
To play a visible and impactful leadership role outside the organisation and with partners in relation to the assigned client directorate, ensuring a shared focus on priority outcomes for communities and residents and continual learning and improvement for the Council.
Experience of coordinating and managing more than one of the following : strategic and business planning, equality, scrutiny, partnership, commissioning, research, assessment, performance, public consultation and engagement, inspection, improvement and safeguarding.
A demonstrable knowledge in more than one key social policy area including public health, housing, economy, public realm, children and adult services, community safety, culture, cohesion and integration, equality and inclusion, community and voluntary sector.
A demonstrable expert understanding and knowledge of the national and local context for and operations of the assigned client Directorate.
Demonstrable experience of leading high performing teams.
Applicants for roles relating to children’s or adults’ services must demonstrate substantial performance and intelligence experience in relation to social care and safeguarding.
We are recruiting to a number of senior management posts, to be assigned to client Directorates. Applicants should specify which post(s) they are applying for and ensure that their application addresses the specialist knowledge and expertise required to support particular client Directorates, as set out in the person specifications.
