GCHQ, the longest standing code-breaking intelligence agency in the UK, is offering you an exciting opportunity to join our organisation as an Intelligence Analyst Trainee at our new site in Manchester.
GCHQ’s new Intelligence Analyst Trainee programme provides an exciting tailored development pathway to enable you to provide top class analyst support and to develop you into a future Intelligence Analyst.
Through a range of interesting and stretching real world work, combined with a first class learning experience in a supportive training environment, you’ll develop all the experience, knowledge and skills required to take on an Analyst role within our unique organisation.
You’ll also benefit from close support and mentoring from established Analysts and managers, learning directly from the best! You’ll be in a trainee role for around 2 years, during which time we expect you to move from an operational analyst support role to an independent Intelligence Analyst.
If successful on the programme, as an Intelligence Analyst you will process a large range of data defining, analysing, distilling and interpreting it in order to produce insightful and impactful reports for our partners and customers.

You’ll need to be at least 18 years old.
You’ll have 2 A levels at grade C minimum, or equivalent qualifications. You’ll also have 5 GCSEs at grade C minimum (including Maths and English).
Alternatively, you’ll have 5 GCSEs at grade C minimum (including Maths and English) and at least 2 years’ work experience, from which you’ll be able to demonstrate your IT proficiency.
You should note that this is not a graduate level position. Our Intelligence Analyst role is more suited to those looking for a graduate job.

We welcome applications from people looking to work part-time, but will need you to be able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week during the trainee programme in order to undertake the full range of learning and consolidation opportunities.
