Job Description

As a Bid Manager you will manage and deliver winning civil engineering solutions, developing robust and comprehensive Planning, Design and Commercial Submissions on Major Civil Engineering Projects for one of Northern Ireland's Tier 1 Engineering Contractors.

Working out of either the Belfast or Manchester Office, you will join a successful Bid Management team of civil engineering, planning and commercial experts, working with the supply chain to deliver value engineering solutions to Clients across a multitude of sectors including Highways, Nuclear, Rail, Energy from Waste, Marine, Water and Wastewater, Ports and Harbours.

Requirements include :

  • Appraisal of ITT / RFP documentation to identify key risks and opportunities.
  • Organising and leading bid strategy meetings.
  • Leading the development of bid response that exceeds our Client's expectations.
  • Preparing presentations and attending interviews.
  • Formulating and developing alternative proposals inc. value engineering and optioneering.
  • Input into the planning and programming and the development of construction methodologies.
  • Key skills will be the effective management of all those who input into the tender, therefore the candidate must be a highly organised individual who can programme the work of others and deliver under the pressure of tender deadlines.
  • To be considered for the role you will have the following :

  • 10 years' Civil Industry experience up to Site Agent level with a Principle Contractor or Senior Designer within Consultancy Practice with exposure to Design and Build Projects.
  • Previous experience in delivering Major Civil Engineering projects essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is not essential; this is an entry level role and would suit those wishing to take their career to the next level.
  • We are interested in receiving applications from Bid Managers with circa 2 to 5 years' experience.
  • Self motivation is a key pre-requisite, along with being results driven and having the ability to work to demanding deadlines.
