The statutory Accounting team is hiring! We are looking for a dedicated, independent, and thorough Statutory reporting enthusiast.

In this position, you will b responsible for the Expedia Group companies within three French-speaking countries. Because of this, French language fluency is required.

You will be a part of a broader Statutory compliance team, covering the entire EMEA region and 30-plus legal entities.

You will be liaising with external auditors, coordinating the collection of all data and explanations requested, preparing the audit file to support these.

You will also be the primary contact for audit queries for French language companies. You will have the opportunity to interact with other teams (finance or non finance teams) and external advisors when needed to have the information readily available on a timely basis for the preparation of the statutory accounts.

You will also work closely with Tax team on any VAT or corporation tax issues relating to Expedia’s French language companies.

Monthly tasks : You will be :

  • preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, reviewing of monthly P&L and Balance Sheets, per company, prior to close to ensure these are as expected and to assist the Corporate Accounting team in identifying errors or omissions;
  • Liaising on a monthly basis with external advisors on local GAAP differences and local compliance (document retention, local Tax compliance, etc);
  • Determining and implementing where process improvements within the month end cycle can be used to increase efficiency and reduce hours.

    Streamline processes and utilisation of resources in order to create maximum productivity. Ensuring all SOX controls are maintained and adhered to - SOX compliance

  • Other ad hoc projects as needed (merge, onboarding new companies, etc)
  • QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE :

    You are fully qualified ACA / ACCA or EU equivalent (DSCG, Master Accounting / Audit or Business school) with experience in French GAAP preferably from a Big 4 public accounting firm (at least 4 years).

    You also have strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas...).
