The defence portfolio is part of the wider advisory programme delivery unit which delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity from £millions to 20bn, through the technical disciplines of programme management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting, education and healthcare management.

Our portfolio of defence projects offers an extensive range of programme support capabilities to defence agencies, including the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), and several other worldwide defence sector service suppliersMott MacDonald are looking to hire planning / scheduling professionals in both the junior and mid-

level band. The role is responsible for setting and maintaining the performance management baseline for project(s) within the team(s).

It is responsible for directing and integrating all aspects of earned value management, cost management, cost estimating, scheduling and risk management.

It is responsible for providing the portfolio manager and / or project managers with analysis of progress against the performance management baseline and driving recovery actions where necessary

Job Description

  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis
  • Knowledge and experience in scoping and creating a project plans
  • A deep understanding of the concepts of Schedule Management
  • Extensive knowledge of Primavera P6 or Enterprise Microsoft Project
  • Ability to assist in the development, maintenance and monitoring Project Plans in line with agreed Schedule Management policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management
  • Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contract and work processes
  • Candidate Specification

  • The role requires Scheduling-specific knowledge equivalent to a Technical or Business degree and APM PQ qualification
  • Ability to achieve Security clearance to SC level or higher
