We seek a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. The postholder will contribute to our ambitious plans to continue to grow a new Department of Engineering at Nottingham Trent University.

The Department is characterised by an innovative approach to education in partnership with industry, emphasising innovation and project delivery on a foundation of core engineering expertise.

You will be an inspiring educator, who aims to develop project-based teaching in the context of real world applications, and thrives in a collegiate Department.

You will have a PhD in a relevant Engineering discipline and an emerging record in research. Preferred research areas include Industrial Robotics, Automation, Autonomous Systems, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Medical Technologies, Prosthetics, Biomedical Imaging and Sensing, Sport Engineering.

A working knowledge of Industry 4.0 would be an advantage. We also welcome applicants with industrial experience. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape new developments in both teaching and research.

Our plans include parallel investments in a number of other academic posts, a Medical Technology Research Centre, and a new dedicated Engineering building due to open in 2019.

The successful candidate will have opportunity to develop research and teaching capability in purpose-built new facilities.

It is renowned for leading edge research, strong links with industry and its excellent teaching that shape lives and society.

Our research strengths include Computer Aided Engineering, Medical Devices, Applied Ergonomics, Bio-functional and Multi-

functional Materials, Biomedical and Sport Engineering.

The Department of Engineering launched new programmes in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Sport Engineering in 2017, and will launch a new programme in Mechanical Engineering in 2018.
