To assist the cafe manager and to take responsibility for front of house in the café, providing a vibrant, comprehensive and confident service, engaging with customers and providing additional support in the kitchen, making basic food orders.
Hours of work : Part time (up to) 16 hours per week (requires flexible working including weekend work Variable hours between 6am and 10pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 10pm at weekends)

Main purpose of job : To assist the cafe manager and to take responsibility for front of house in the café, providing a vibrant, comprehensive and confident service, engaging with customers and providing additional support in the kitchen, making basic food orders.
Duties may include :
Barista services preparing and serving customers’ drinks
Serving customers food and to assist in the preparation of food orders when required.
Serving customers in a pleasant and courteous manner
To ensure all displays, counters and café seating is clean, tidy and hygienic
Operating the till and balancing it on a daily basis
To adhere to cashing up procedures and monetary handling processes.
To promote excellent standards of safety and cleanliness.
To develop and maintain high levels of customer engagement and customer service levels.
To create and maintain a friendly, vibrant and supportive atmosphere in the café.
Assisting with ordering supplies, locally where possible
Cleaning the kitchen, café area and café toilets in accordance with Health
and Safety Regulations and Guidance
Keeping cleaning and temperature records
Clearing tables and washing up
Reporting maintenance issues to the Café Manager
Ensuring that any risk assessments are complied with
Maintaining such records as are required by the Café Manager
To work closely with other team members to ensure high levels of customer experience
Attend regular team, supervision and committee meetings as required
Undertake relevant training
Any other duty deemed relevant to the post and as requested by your line manager
