We are looking for an Electrical Site Agent to work from our Northumberland Depot on a 9 month Fixed Term Contract as part of our Street Lighting Team.

Role Overview :

To support the electrical work, the checking and inspection of ongoing column installations, but mainly to assist with the management and delivery of a 13,000no lantern replacement / renewal works having to be done over a 6-8 month period.

Key Responsibilities :

  • You will be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of street lighting equipment and associated highway furniture across Northumberland and surrounding areas
  • Assisting contractors and staff with issues, problems and provide cost effective solutions
  • Managing client expectations and can deliver and represent GT at meetings as required
  • Assist Customer Care Manager with relevant information and can transfer technical descriptions, issues and solutions into a non-
  • technical format for the passing on or presentation of information until complaint is resolved

  • Be realistic in providing timescales to satisfy Customer Complaints and provide where necessary reports to Project Manager
  • Assist with and understand job pack preparation and contents and give clear instructions to Subcontractor as required
  • Prepare and deliver tool box talks, inductions as necessary
  • Undertake site inspections
  • Experience and Qualifications :

  • Extensive street lighting knowledge gained on a PFI or similar street lighting contract
  • Over 10 years’ experience of working with contractors on street lighting contracts as a supervisor or team manager leading to a Performance Manager role
  • Health and Safety background including preferably IOSH , SMSTS but not essential
  • Knowledge of utility connections, service details, cable identification, column and lantern types
  • IPAF holder
  • Clean driving license
  • HEA AO qualification preferred
  • HEA / CSCS card holder (Manual Handling , First Aid, G39 minimum)
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Budgetary awareness
  • Full NRSWA qualified
