This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive Mechanical and Electrical consultant who is familiar with undertaking M&E condition surveys and reports as well as providing support to the existing team in the delivery of projects.

  • There will be a focus on undertaking condition appraisals of educational premises but the role may also develop to include;
  • Commercial new build and refurbishment projects
  • Education schemes
  • Major residential and mixed use developments
  • Sports and Leisure / Stadium projects both nationally and globally
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Delivery of Mechanical and Electrical condition data capture surveys
  • The individual will be an integral part of a team that is accountable for the commercial and contractual performance of a project
  • To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
  • To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
  • Comply with established commercial / procurement / contractual strategies
  • Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
  • Individually or as part of a team operate processes for the selection, appointment and management of construction and engineering contractors
  • Cost Planning including :
  • Preparation of indicative cost budgets and appraisals
  • Preparation of elemental cost plans in accordance with NRM
  • Provide advice and opinion in respect of our client development plans and expectations
  • Value engineering studies
  • M&E Surveying including : Undertake pre survey meetings with client representatives and Building Stock Condition SurveyorsPopulate the asset management system via tablet technology with data relating to the condition of the stock and surrounding areas along with other legislative requirements.
  • Promote commercial awareness throughout project
  • Advising and liaising with internal project and cost control team
  • Developing Commercial Strategies
  • Developing Acquisition Strategies
  • Candidate Requirements :

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.

  • Mechanical and / or Electrical Engineering degree Accredited by either IET and / or IMechE
  • Strong experience post degree ( Pre-qualification relevant experience may be considered) in a similar role.
  • Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • Proficient in the use of mobile data capture device
  • Experience of Kykloud would be desirable
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service, communication and client / external interface skills
  • Stakeholder management with a clear focus on developing client accounts and forging new business relationships
  • Able to work with teams and have the ability to prioritise workloads and deliver to deadlines
  • A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious
  • Ability to identify and develop potential opportunities to secure more business for RLB
  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
  • Excellent specification writing skills
  • Client facing, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery
  • Able to build long-term relationships
  • A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious
  • Being presentable and appropriately representing the code of conduct and ethics of your respective institutions
  • IT literacy and expertise in using tablet based data collection technologies, Excel, Word MS Project,
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate flexible approach to work
  • Well presented with good interpersonal skills
