What is the opportunity?

Credit Risk assessment for credit facilities, primarily in respect of capital call and liquidity loans but also for trading facilities with hedge funds and other fund counterparts

What will you do?

  • Credit- and due diligence work undertaken for a range of lending and trading relationships.
  • The primary focus will be credit analysis of loan facilities for alternative funds / private equity vehicles, but also other products across the portfolio, such as derivatives and securities lending.

    The incumbent will often be a key point of contact on credit risk issues relating to their allocated portfolio of clients.

  • Responsibilities mainly involve the participation in due diligence on fund managers and the risk analysis of fund counterparties, together with the establishment of counterparty ratings and the processing of new transactions, as well as annual reviews of existing relationships.
  • Preparation of borrower / counterparty risk analysis, proposed internal rating, and transaction summary, as well as assessment of documentation terms.
  • The mandate calls for an effective and professional officer with strong credit and networking skills, and able to deal with a large and diverse workload under time pressue
  • Excellent written communication skills are crucial.
  • The incumbent will be expected to operate largely independently, although he / she will also be expected to liaise with RBC Group staff in various departments.
  • Work to prevent, to detect, and to eliminate the potential for risk and liability to the Firm.
  • What do you need to succeed?


  • Solid understanding of the financial markets and the role of funds.
  • Credit analysis experience required with emphasis on funds including direct lending to private equity structures.
  • Experience of balance sheet ratio analysis.
  • Nice-to-have

  • University level education preferred.
  • Knowledge of external rating agency methodologies.
