This position requires you to declare any unspent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions Order 1975), where prompted to do so within in the application process.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post.
We are looking to recruit a Benefits Officer within the Benefits Section dealing with the assessment of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support and Emergency Assistance.
The posts are advertised as based in Delamere House, Crewe but applicants could be based at Macclesfield Town Hall if preferred as the team is split over both locations.
Duties will include :
ordinating joint visits where appropriate
You should have a NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a professional area or have a willingness to study, experience of working in a Benefits environment, knowledge of Housing Benefit & Council Tax Support legislation, a high level of literacy and numeracy and excellent knowledge of Microsoft office.
The work will entail telephoning customers in connection with their applications so excellent customer service skills are essential.
You should have the ability to exercise sound technical judgement and to distinguish between routine and more complex issues.
