Purpose of the role :

In this capacity, your role and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following :

  • To provide advice, support and coaching on EHS related operational issues
  • Maintain and further develop Safe Systems of Work related to Permit to Work, Confined Space Entry, Energy Control and Power Lockout and Working at Height
  • Maintain regulatory permits and facilities inspection records
  • Assist with the preparations and management of the site emergency planning arrangements
  • Support the continued development of EHS policies and procedures
  • Principal accountabilities :

  • Creation of risk assessments for all activities on site
  • Deliver internal EHS training where required
  • Provide regular EHS performance reports to site and corporate leadership
  • To lead and carry out incident investigations as required
  • Undertake workplace inspections and behavioural observations to ensure correct practices are adhered to
  • Undertake internal audits in line with corporate standards
  • Identify legislative changes and update existing policies and procedures
  • Knowledge, skills & experience :

    Required

  • Minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate or similar H&S Qualification
  • Working knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, and Environmental Permitting
  • Previous EHS experience / proven background in an industrial, process driven or engineering setting
  • Understanding of EHS legislation
  • Experience of Confined Space Entry Permits and General Permit to Work
  • Personal attributes :

  • Competent in IT such as excel, word, power point, outlook,
  • Passionate, enthusiastic and committed, with a can-do attitude
  • Self-directed / managed and motivated towards achieving goals
  • Excellent planning and organisations skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships and network both locally within McLaren and externally
  • Make complex issues clear and transparent
  • Approachable collaborative style
  • Excellent communication skills to line manager and key stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively influence, negotiate and use conflict resolution skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • A strong interest in composites technology
  • Valid Passport and Driving License
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Effective communication and inter-personal skills
  • Self-driven individual, who can also work within a team
