    Each day our staff work with individuals to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness, such as poor mental health or drug and alcohol dependency.

    From supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to 7,000 lives every year.

    SHP Islington Mental Health Services comprises one medium-high needs project (24 / 7) and four low-medium needs projects (9-

    5), housing people experiencing mental ill health and who may also have other complex support needs including substance use and offending behaviour, or who may present with behaviours which can be challenging.

    You will provide support, supervision and guidance to staff from across the services to ensure best practice in dealing with challenges associated with working with people with complex needs, including developing a team approach to support and crisis plan development.

    Working under the direction of the Service Manager, you will also develop and oversee implementation of SHP’s Psychologically Informed Environments model within the services in consultation with the team and the clients.

    You will work alongside a team of Support Workers, Support Assistants and a Recovery and Opportunities Worker and you will participate in the development and delivery of a structured Opportunities Programme across the services.

    You will also liaise with external agencies supporting clients and build partnerships with the service to maximise clients’ recovery capital and learning for the team.

    This exciting role includes a high level of client contact, opportunities to work with external agencies such as statutory mental health services, substance use services, other community based organisations and a chance to be part of a growing, innovative organisation at the forefront of tackling homelessness in the capital.

    A commitment to working collaboratively and within a recovery framework is essential.
