Do you believe everyone should have a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life?
SHP is a London-wide charity working to prevent homelessness and help vulnerable and socially excluded people to transform their lives.
Each day our staff work with individuals to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness, such as poor mental health or drug and alcohol dependency.
From supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to 7,000 lives every year.
SHP Islington Mental Health Services comprises one medium-high needs project (24 / 7) and four low-medium needs projects (9-
5), housing people experiencing mental ill health and who may also have other complex support needs including substance use and offending behaviour, or who may present with behaviours which can be challenging.
You will provide support, supervision and guidance to staff from across the services to ensure best practice in dealing with challenges associated with working with people with complex needs, including developing a team approach to support and crisis plan development.
Working under the direction of the Service Manager, you will also develop and oversee implementation of SHP’s Psychologically Informed Environments model within the services in consultation with the team and the clients.
You will work alongside a team of Support Workers, Support Assistants and a Recovery and Opportunities Worker and you will participate in the development and delivery of a structured Opportunities Programme across the services.
You will also liaise with external agencies supporting clients and build partnerships with the service to maximise clients’ recovery capital and learning for the team.
This exciting role includes a high level of client contact, opportunities to work with external agencies such as statutory mental health services, substance use services, other community based organisations and a chance to be part of a growing, innovative organisation at the forefront of tackling homelessness in the capital.
We are looking for enthusiastic, resilient, innovative and flexible people who will be able to work creatively within a recovery framework to support clients to manage their mental health, build social networks, participate in both the service & the wider community and increase their independence.
A commitment to working collaboratively and within a recovery framework is essential.
In return we offer the chance to be part of dynamic services run by committed teams, excellent training and opportunities for development, 25 days annual leave per year excluding bank holidays and a generous pension package.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 29th of July 2018 (11 : 59pm)
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 8th of August 2018.
