Job purpose :

The Account Executive is responsible for assisting the Account Directors in the strategic development of Global & Pan-European digital communications and driving ideas & activation.

This role will be split between BP Corporate and BlackRock. More information about these two clients can be found on

Reporting structure :

The Account Executive will be reporting in to the Account Directors on BP Corporate and in to the Account Manager on BlackRock.

There will also be tasks where the reporting is to other team members, including strategist, Business Director and Partner.

In addition to the above, Mindshare offers all staff access to a mentor program, ensuring that when requested a mentor is recommended elsewhere in the company to help provide guidance and inspiration.

About the Teams :

We are a hardworking and close knit group of colleagues who are required to deliver high standards of work, often going to senior global clients directly.

There is a balance of co-ordination at a pan-global and / or pan-European level as well as centrally led media execution.

This means we are often required to keep many balls in the air and work continuously to tight deadlines. However, this is required and done in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Principal accountabilities :

  • Project management : An Executive will work closely with the AD / AM on all projects as required and communicate any issues as soon as they arise.
  • Project management roles for an Executive will involve : Production and distribution of status reports, meeting organisation and client updatesCo-

    ordinating different project stakeholdersDiligence and conscientiousness with deadlines and personal management

  • Campaign Planning : The AE’s role will be to assist with all aspects of campaign planning, aiding theAD / AMin the development of central digital strategic recommendations based on researched consumer insights, cultural trends and business objectives.
  • Research : Understanding of all tools utilized to capture unique insights about our targets and how they interact with digital media.

    Must understand how to both pull the data and interpret results.Briefing : Assist the AD / AM indeveloping a consideration set of relevant media partners, whilst being responsible for building and distributing briefs to those Media Owners & setting appropriate deadlines and deliverables.

    Evaluation : Work with the AD / AMto evaluate the contents of each proposal as relates to the requirements of the briefNegotiation : Assist AD / AM in negotiating plans.

  • Campaign Implementation : The AE will be responsible for activating and maintaining all campaigns with assistance from the AD / AM when required.
  • Lead the execution / implementation of media plans based on the approved digital and campaign strategyManagement of central and local campaign activationsManage creative agencies to ensure development of the appropriate creative assets is delivered in timely fashionWork with relevant stakeholders (creative agency and 3rd party ad servers etc.

  • Monitor and optimize media based on campaign KPIs
  • Gatekeeper of all contracts and agreements
  • Campaign Reporting : Campaigns will typically be reported to clients monthly and require an analytical approach to data interpretationAE should understand how data is pulled and formatted to build appropriate visualizations of performanceAE will manage all campaign reporting, working with the AD / AM to provide a high calibre of analytical reporting outputs;
  • developing insights, learning’s and implications for client presentation, including post-campaign analysisWork with AD / AM to build and refine reporting templates to each campaign

  • RelationshipsMaintain and develop strong relationships with media and technology vendors Develop & maintain strong day-
  • to-day working relationships with external digital and creative agency partners, helping to develop cohesive and single-minded solutions for the clientBuild rapport with the rest of the team as well as other colleagues elsewhere within the Mindshare group

  • Landscape knowledge and insightsDeepen understanding of emerging trends in the digital space from a consumer behavior and technology standpointDevelop knowledge of key digital areas relevant to the brand : Content Integration / syndication, Display, Search, Social
  • Key challenges :

  • Ability to participate in conversations regarding media trends and consumer behaviours

  • Key skills & knowledge :

  • Some previous experience in digital media planning / buying
  • Strong numeric & analytical skills
  • Highly organised and able to manage a busy workload
  • Able to deliverwork to agreed deadlines as well as strong attention to detail
  • Presentation skills writing presentations according to objectives and audience as well as presenting when necessary.

  • Experience with Microsoft’s suite of office tools particularly Excel &PowerPoint
  • Understanding of how to use social networking platforms particularly Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

  • Has this person developed the appropriate action plans on a project basis and managed external agency outputs in line with Director / Client expectations?
  • How effective has the campaign implementation & delivery process been? Have deadlines and team / client expectations been met?
  • Has enough preparation and thinking been put in place prior to the campaign going live?

  • How connected has this person been with other internal teams managing different aspects of the campaigns (i.e. offline, search, mobile, local markets, etc)
  • Has the person stayed on top of emerging digital trends & developed their understanding of these?
