Production Manager We are currently looking to recruit a Production Manager. This role is working 5 days per week; however, a flexible approach towards working hours is required.
You will work to improve the effective, efficient and safe utilisation of labour, machinery and materials to agreed Company targets and standards.
This will include working with other Production Managers and functional managers to achieve department objectives. In addition to working towards existing KPIs (such as labour costs and material variances), you will be responsible for a number of projects designed to generate improvements across the whole of production, which could include focussing on quality standards, capacity, machine utilisation, wastage, yield, labour deployment, Health & Safety standards and other measures.
You must have previous experience as a successful Production Manager in a chilled food environment, with excellent technical and quality standards.
Whilst it is not essential, being degree educated in a food discipline is desirable. Have an excellent understanding of continuous improvement processes.
You will need to be fully conversant with the cost elements of products; yields, throughputs, labour efficiencies and wastage and possess a flair for interpreting data to optimise cost performance.
You must have experience managing projects designed to generate improvements across the whole of production. You will need to achieve or exceed the existing KPIs including labour and material variances, monitor absence, accidents and ensure adherence to CCPs through direct management and site IT systems.
You will be a highly motivated and pro-active individual, with experience of managing others and capable of building teams.
You will be flexible, as the role may require you to work across departments, so outstanding communication skills are necessary.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, ambitious individual who has the confidence and ability to make an impact.
