Job Description This position is with the 15th District Court Service Unit but located at the Stafford Branch Office Incumbent will act as receptionist by receiving visitors to the office and answering questions.

Answer all incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff member. Accurately record and deliver messages to CSU staff.

Incumbent will schedule appointments for the intake officer. Also, type and edit a variety of correspondence to include letters, memos, reports, referrals, etc.

Ensure correct grammar, spelling and punctuation are used when preparing correspondence. Utilize proofreading skills to ensure an error free document is transposed.

Provide office and clerical support to the CSU. Organize and maintain all filing systems within the office. Process all incoming and outgoing mail according to established office procedures.

Utilize BADGE to assist CSU staff obtaining juvenile records. Assist with preliminary screening for individuals seeking intake services.

  • Maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor when working with CSU staff, courts, customers and outside agencies. Minimum Qualifications Must be a High School Graduate and possess a working knowledge of general office practices and procedures, as well as, filing principles;
  • ability to type with adequate speed and accuracy; knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with a windows based operating system, including Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • ability to operate a multi-line phone system; ability to effectively communicate with the public, staff and other agencies while utilizing problem solving skills;
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions and to handle a variety of projects within specified time frames. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of BADGE and knowledge of CSU procedures preferred as well as experience working with and assisting the public.
