Senior Business Project Manager

Responsible for the leadership of projects that are cross functional and have a high degree of complexity. Responsible for delivery of assigned projects within acceptable timeframes and quality standards.

Fully knowledgeable of the System Development Life Cycle and Project Lifecycle processes. Responsible for conceptualizing, generating, planning, managing, and executing on high-impact projects.

Understands the customers, business models, business goals, overall goals, and how LexisNexis can be part of the solution.

May be responsible for special assignments and efforts related with Integrations, Process Improvement efforts, Customer projects, etc.

The Senior Project Manager may be responsible for multiple projects running concurrently. Ability to handle at least 2 large-

scale, complex projects (business case / acquisitions); 1 or more customer accounts independently (depending on size).

Serve as the point of contact for the customer account / Business case project. Responsible for conducting periodic status reviews and reporting back to stakeholder groups, steering committees, etc.

The Senior Project Manager may be responsible for a large vertical market or integration project.


  • Manage full end to end delivery of assigned project(s), people and process. Develop and manage project plan as required.
  • Deliver assigned projects on schedule aligned with the critical needs of the business vertical.
  • Proficient in all aspects, identifying, analyzing, tracking and monitoring, of the Project Management Body of Knowledge : Scope, Time, Risk, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communication, Procurement, Stakeholder Management, and Integration.
  • Construct the Work Breakdown Structure for the project; demonstrate proficiency in using project management software tools.
  • Documents the necessary project artifacts, such as schedules and work plans, estimates, issues tracking and status reporting, to manage the project lifecycle.
  • Manage all relationships necessary for a successful project team.
  • Coordinates and facilitates project meetings and negotiates with staffing managers for project resources and other project needs.
  • Maintain ownership of and accountability for the project and / or program schedule.
  • Provide guidance to other RISK teams across various organizations on project management as requested.
  • Represent Program Management in cross-functional teams within the LexisNexis RISK Solutions organization.
  • Ability to travel and manage project development across a geographically diverse engineering organization.
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvement to existing processes and procedures. 13. Execute according to GTM and SOX guidelines if applicable.
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with sales, marketing, customer service, billing, royalties and testing organizations and personnel.
  • Lead efforts focused on identifying, scoping, and prioritizing continuous improvement projects that align with the unit's strategic plans.
  • As needed, act as change agent to foster a customer-centric, quality-oriented culture via LEAN concepts, while driving measurable business improvements.
  • Provide expertise and share best practices regarding assigned tools & methodologies, project management and team leadership.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and regulations.
  • Support ongoing LEAN certification efforts if applicable, acting as a mentor / coach to candidates during their certification process.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Project management experience. -PMI certification preferred.
  • LEAN / Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification strongly preferred -Agile Certification (DAD or SAFe) preferred.
  • Enterprise Change Management, Prosci’s ADKAR Certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across a highly matrixed organization, interacting, influencing, negotiating effectively with all levels of leadership and peers -
  • Successfully demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced environment, with frequent and substantial priority changes, challenging timelines and major resource constraints is desired Ability to identify and scope process improvement opportunities through financial, statistical, and logic-based analysis.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; demonstrated executive presence. Track-record of working with and through colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to operate independently; a self-starter who can define and manage their specific day-to-day work efforts
  • Works effectively with diverse, cross-functional and multicultural teams -Strong facilitation, oral communication, and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio) -Experience in working with LN products, systems a plus.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and work in cross-functional teams. -Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-cultural environment. -Travel is required
