  • The job will also extend to conducting experience analyses and providing recommended best estimate assumptions for in force treaties as well as calibrating the company’s economic capital model via the framework.

    The candidate will assist in the day to day management of the R&D team, and provide recommendations to the Head of R&D. The role holder will have a strong technical background in UK insurance, with market experience preferred in both protection and longevity.

    The individual will also be required to manage key stake holders both internally and externally and will be a strong contributing member of the Director community within the company.

  • A qualified actuary
  • Demonstrable experience of experience studies, reinsurance and / or life insurance pricing / product development either with a reinsurance or direct insurance background, preferably with a UK or Irish life insurer, or life unit of a consultancy
  • An understanding of both Protection and Longevity products and risk drivers, preferably with a very strong background in Protection
  • Strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgement and commercial awareness, to produce justifiable and practical pricing advice even where data is sparse or difficult to work with
  • Strong commercial skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK market
  • Strong negotiator and influencer
  • Excellent communicator with people at all levels
  • Enable the development of junior members of the team, and encourage ownership and responsibility for their individual task in respect of Longevity business
