The Role

We are currently recruiting an IS Project Manager, on a contract basis, reporting to the Head of IS Business Services

Responsibilities will include :

  • Managing and leading the day to day project delivery activities and reporting project status to ensure that relevant deliverables and activities are completed on time, adhere to governance, are within approved budget, and provide desired business value.
  • Working with the Lead Architect to ensure alignment of vision, plans and dependencies and with the IS Services teams to ensure alignment and effective service transition and take-on.
  • Setting up the relevant stakeholder engagement and project structures to enable effective expectation, scope and outcomes management and to provide day to day project management
  • Review, challenge and developing detailed project schedules, deliverables tracking, resource planning and providing weekly and monthly financial updates, working with Procurement to ensure appropriate supplier management and supplier escalation is in place
  • Leading, managing and guiding all project resources including IS resources, 3rd party suppliers (incl. SI, software, hardware, service partners), business resources.
  • Managing the delivery of the technology platforms that underpins the relevant projects and assessing & mitigating the impact on existing systems and decommissioning heritage solutions.
  • Lead and manage the business change required to enable the user community to get most out of investment
  • Work with Procurement team to ensure procurements are carried according to policy, schedule and delivery value for money
  • The ideal candidate will have the following experience :

  • Previous experience in end to end life-cycle of Project Management using leading methodologies and process development.
  • Strong background in project delivery and experience.
  • Experience of managing multiple parties / stakeholders including Executive Directors, Senior Directors, 3rd party suppliers
  • Delivery of projects in a Construction or Utilities sector
  • Worked within a TOGAF and ITIL environment
  • Proven track record in project delivery for application-led programmes utilising third party technical resources
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management - experienced at managing business and technology up to Board level
  • Strong commercial acumen, financially literate and comfortable controlling cost and risk
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Good attention to detail and proactive in resolving issues and managing expectations;
  • Takes accountability and ownership for delivery to quality, time, budget and expectations
