changing therapies that improve health. For more information, visit . We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate / Director to join PPD’s global Commercial Finance team.

Based in our Cambridge offices, the associate / director is responsible for the overall quality of the bidding and contracting processes for the accounts to which they are assigned while being an active leader in a global commercial management team.

The associate director provides direction to their team in the areas of bid development and review, compliance with internal controls, and supervision of commercial managers, associate commercial managers and / or analysts.

The position will also be required to work cross functionally to effectively evaluate the commercial risk to PPD and suggest appropriate contract structures that will provide effective risk management.

The associate director is also responsible to oversee customer relationships as needed and act as Commercial Finance’s representative to its clients.

Key Responsibilities In this role you will assist in the development and evaluation of departmental competencies. You will manage teams consisting of a line manager (Associate CM or CM) and several analysts, including mentoring, training and development, coaching.

Working with team managers to hire staff and conduct formal appraisals. You will work with Business Development and line managers (Associate CM or CM) to prioritize work flow for the team.

The successful candidate will oversee timely collection of data for proposal and budget development in response to requests for proposal or contract modification request forms.

You will analyse proposal or modification text and budget to corporate metrics, client expectations and other benchmarks.

Approving accurate bids, proposals and modifications that conform to PPD contract requirements and meet client needs; applies quality control procedures to ensure proposals and processes conform to departmental and client standards.

Oversees data gathering and analysis for portfolio financial management, proposals and contract modifications. Ensures all deliverables are completed on a timely basis.

As an Associate Director / Director you will also be responsible for client management and maintain and improve processes and relationships.

Interaction with operations management is key to ensure that final contracts or modifications meet their needs, conduction risk assessments and suggesting appropriate remedies to minimize operational risk.

You will work with legal to ensure PPDs legal interests are represented in the final contract.The AD / Director will be required to make recommendations to senior management regarding GP, pricing decisions and payment schedule analysis and volume discount agreements after liaison with finance as well as take part in negotiation and completion of master service agreements.

Qualifications

Education and Experience : Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years).

5+ years of management responsibility Proven leadership skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong general business knowledge, including understanding of the global financial, marketing and buying and selling processes within a general business environment
