what you’ll be doing :

in this exciting senior product role, you will have shared product responsibility for bbc iplayer’s connected tv apps and for cross platform kpi driving fetures.

on a daily basis, you will inspire and direct a highly

competent team of engineers, testers, user experience designers, business analysts and project managers.

communicating a consistent cross-platform vision, while taking ownership of quarterly objectives, and defining and prioritising new features and iterations through daily agile ceremonies.

you will use your fantastic stakeholder management skills to build internal relationships with our media delivery, metadata, editorial, live operations, business development and marketing teams, as well as forge long lasting relationships with partners including samsung, digital uk, youview, sony and amazon.

your overarching goal is to maintain bbc iplayer’s high quality standard and ensure all parties are on a journey to take bbc iplayer connected tv apps to the next level.

what you’ll need :

we’re looking for someone exceptional to join a team of already exceptional and passionate people. a seasoned digital product manager, with success in innovation of consumer products, who can :

  • represent the viewers, by empathising with varying need states
  • prioritise & simplify, providing the delivery team with clarity, focus and achievable goals
  • communicate clearly, ensuring a common understanding of the objectives and roadmap both within the delivery team and across stakeholder groups
  • action analytically, making good decisions by using analytics data, user research and multivariate tests
  • deliver in an agile software development environment, in part by providing purpose and solving problems
  • know good user experience, good design and how to delight users
  • understand technical trade-offs, making tactical versus strategic decisions
  • understand product life-cycle, from conception through to end-of-life
  • represent the bbc and present themselves professionally to partner organisations
  • line manage, mentor and develop others
  • of course, it also helps if you have knowledge of connected tv platforms and a passion for british television!
