We are a highly successful digital and magazine publisher and are constantly evaluating how we work together across countries and brands and how we develop our products to expand our global leadership in the fashion, luxury and lifestyle space on all major digital platforms.

This candidate will partner with the CRO of Condé Nast International to execute our central commercial strategy with the aim of driving innovation, sales excellency, and profitability.

This candidate will work closely with leadership across the business to determine the best opportunities for long term growth and develop frameworks to ensure we are able to deliver against them.

A close working relationship with our product team is essential, to ensure that we are building and developing the right digital products and services for the long-

term future success of the business

This candidate will have substantial sales experience and be skilled at delivering successful sales strategies and identifying optimal sales structures.

Experience in the implementation and effective use of an intelligent CRM system to help improve sales performance would be an added bonus.

A digital native who is thoroughly versed in all areas of the digital advertising industry and international platform environment, this candidate will help develop future platform and channel strategies, working closely with the CRO and his deputy.

Director of Commercial Strategy

This role will include executing special projects and deep dives on key commercial strategic issues facing the business.

The candidate should be confident in his / her ability to identify such issues and then quickly develop a robust plan to help the business deliver against them.

Clarity of thought is essential, as is a sense of humour

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Skills & Requirements

Working in concert with the CRO in the formulation, expression and implementation of CNI’s commercial strategy, at both corporate and brand level

Significant experience in devising and executing commercial strategy

In depth knowledge of all aspects of digital advertising : display, branded content, programmatic, mobile, video, social, influencer marketing etc.

To anticipate and recommend responses to changing business needs and market trends which will have a direct operational and financial impact on our business

Experience working in a digital, product development environment, and comfortable with the ambiguity and complexity that comes with that.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain complex matters in a concise and engaging manner and prepare clear stakeholder-ready documents

To develop robust commercial plans, working with colleagues across the business

Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when required

Confidence to influence and manage stakeholders across the company

Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem solving

Work with the CRO to define optimal sales team structure

Experience of working internationally

Define and coordinate sales excellency training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives

Passionate about the future of digital advertising and publishing

Strong interpersonal skills at all levels and proven ability to influence an organisation

Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to commercial team and other company functions

Confident, collaborative and relationship focused - approaches business with a partnership mentality

Manage the Business Intelligence team, currently two people

Travel for in person meetings with CNI markets and key partners to develop key relationships.

Foreign languages a bonus

Collaborate with the Product team to create innovative ad products and services

Collaborate with the Strategy team to execute a unified commercial strategy
