We are currently recruiting for a Thermal Customer Engineer. A Customer Engineer is responsible for the undertaking of preventative maintenance, scheduled and emergency remedial works, on Vertiv and third party equipment.
This is a field based role offering considerable independence and you will be working within a regional structure although you will be required to work away from home when required.
The role requires working both individually and as part of a team. The successful candidate will establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-
workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate. You will also be provided with excellent in-house training programs from our staff based in the UK and overseas training centers and offer excellent professional growth opportunities.
Undertake planned maintenance of both Vertiv equipment and 3rd party equipment- Attend any required breakdown and any subsequent repair visit-
Undertake equipment upgrades including software- Participation in the Emergency on-call rota- Capable of working independently based upon training with supervision as required during stages of progression-
Cover varying locations within the South of the UK- Working away from home for a full week at a time may be required, weekend working will also be required-
Regularly assume site person in charge responsibilities for Vertiv service work- Resolve complex and persistent situations with Vertiv equipment on customer sites-
There are five main parts that make up this role : TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SAFETY ASPECTS, ADMINISTRATION, CUSTOMER SATISFACTION and PERFORMANCE a balance to these five will be an important aspect of the role.
Requirements - Experience (one or more of the following)- NVQ level 1 & 2 or equivalent in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or BTEC or relevant time served experience.
Excellent customer service skills, presentable and professional at all time.- Self-starter, ability to plan effectively, organize, and manage time effectively-
Full valid driving license- Technical skills- Strong bias on fault finding- Self motivated and capable of working under own initiative-
Maintenance processes- Customer reporting- Communication- Customer service in potentially stressful situations- Working with safety procedures and protocols-
Organizational and planning- Fully IT Conversant- Mechanical and Electronic / Electrical aptitude- Leadership
