The Implementation Manager, as part of a wider delivery team, are engaged in the overall transition to Windows 10 and Office365 for a central government organisation.
IT Implementation Manager x5 (Office 365)
The Implementation Managers will be based regionally but will occasionally travel to HQ in London and to sites throughout their region to support this large-
scale national roll out. Candidates will be expected to travel as required.
Work locations are : London, Cardiff, Warrington, Stockton on Tees / Role Out of scope or IR35
To be responsible for the deployment and implementation of the deliverables of a dedicated migration lifecycle for their allocated sites for their region.
Work closely with business stakeholders and cluster point of contact to ensure the satisfactory delivery of the EUCS solution, ensuring minimum disruption to the business.
Assist the cluster point of contact in gathering detailed staff and supplier IT requirements; ensure that all documentation is completed, updated and base-lined.
Attend site if required
Identify high profile and assistive technology (AT) users and provide special attention to their requirements. Identify any business critical applications and ensure that testing and migration activities mitigate the risks associated with those users / applications.
Act as key liaison with the business and provide cluster point of contact with key information and targeted communications.
To manage a framework of suppliers to prepare allocated sites for readiness to deploy and implement the necessary technologies, within a set framework and migration lifecycle timescales.
Support the sites during their journey through the transformation lifecycle; from migration kick off, survey and requirements gathering, ordering, change freeze, deployment and cut over support.
Liaise with sites, suppliers and communications teams to help ensure a smooth implementation phase.
Change Issue (CIR) and Issue management (IMR) requests are completed and tracked.
To communicate and articulate key changes in ways of working as customers migrate from to Office 365.
To lead the customer solution provisioning by suppliers on a site by site basis.
Ensure quality standards are adhered to for any supplier deliverables to client sites.
To be the key interface from the Programme to the business and provide answers to frequently asked questions pertaining to the schedule of works.
Raise any concerns that may impact on local and national implementation to Senior Management
Be active on issue management and effective post implementation review action.
Work effectively as a member of the Deployment Team
Track and report progress to the Regional or central Project Office
Support the Lead Deployment Manager as needed.
Perform any other ad hoc duties for the benefit of the project, as and when required.
Be able to work flexibly and support your colleagues though out your region.
Willing to work evenings when necessary
Previous customer / client facing deployment role experience essential
An experienced IT professional, with evidence of project delivery capability developed in a customer focussed environment.
Communications, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills.
Demonstrated evidence of credibility and integrity, providing advice, direction and support to stakeholders.
Skilled in information and communications technology. Has working knowledge of relevant development life-cycles.
Experience of financial management in a project context.
Desktop and pc technical knowledge an advantage
Large scale public sector IT programme delivery experience an advantage
Project management qualifications; Prince 2 or similar
Ability to assimilate, integrate and extract relevant information in a concise manner as appropriate
Project management experience : ability to plan, monitor, control and report status information
Experience of large scale migrations and technology roll outs
Security Clearance to SC level (to be vetted after joining)
MS Office Suite

Proactive approach, rising to challenges with the ability to work on your own initiative
Understanding of software development and delivery processes, methods and standards
Familiarity with the Government IT Profession and cross government IT policies
Understanding of the Government and working in the justice system
Demonstrated awareness of the social, environmental and corporate impact of ICT
Familiarity with relevant national and international legislation pertaining to the Government / Public Sector IT - e.g.
Data Protection Act, Information Assurance policy.
Practitioner Certificate in PRINCE2
Knowledge of Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) methodology.
Knowledge of agile project management methodologies
