The Security Services team is right at the forefront of providing protection for our customer’s email; the team runs and maintains the services that are right at the core of the Mimecast platform and services if your software doesn’t work, then customers don’t get email it’s that simple.
We are looking for Software Reliability Engineers to help us develop the operational aspects of our security platform and find new ways in which we can protect our customer’s email and data.
The team works broadly across a number of different areas, including :
URL and domain security
Hands on experience automating the deployment and monitoring of servers at a large scale
Hands on experience in configuration management of server farms (using tools such as mcollective, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc).
Hands on experience with open source monitoring and graphing solutions such as Nagios, Zabbix, Sensu, Graphite etc.
In depth expertise in Linux internals and system administration including configuration and troubleshooting.
Hands on experience with performance tuning of Linux OS (CentOS) in identifying bottlenecks such as disk I / O, memory, CPU and network issues.
Extensive experience with at least one scripting language apart from BASH (Ruby, Perl, Python).
Ability to analyze network behaviour, performance and application issues using standard tools.
Knowledge developing and debugging distributed applications
Understanding of continuous deployment using CI / CD tools like Jenkins, SCM (Git, SVN) along with code reviews
Knowledge of modern RESTful services.
Desired Skills :
Extensive knowledge of email messaging and security, not just sending using SMTP e.g. DKIM / DMARC / SPF
Administering / tweaking Java applications, and basic java development
Python / Robot framework
Strong understanding of TCP / IP networking, including familiarity with concepts such as OSI stack
Experience of working to deliver a SaaS solution
Industry Experience :
Experience at working in large SaaS vendors (e.g. AWS, Facebook, LinkedIn) is of interest. We’re looking for people who can help us make our systems more operationally scalable.
DevOps / SRE job titles could be of interest. People who have / are working as part of a traditional Ops team. Specifically, the key thing here is the operational perspective, and someone who will work with developers continuously improve the operational aspects of our solutions.
We’re probably looking for someone with 3+ years’ experience
