Pertemps Scotland Ltd are delighted to be working exclusively for our public sector client to recruit for an ICT Security Consultant.
The post is full time, 36 hours Monday to Friday and is available for an immediate start. The rate of pay is dependent upon experience.
This contract is likely to last around a year.
The role is critical within the ICT Systems to support the safe and secure operation and development of services and systems in line with both legislation and best practice.
The successful candidate will oversee all ICT Security aspects to ensure the successful delivery of an agreed programme of ICT Security work.
You will work with the IT Outsource provider who will provide a managed security service to ensure effective security disciplines, technologies and defences are in place to ensure the compliance.
You must have a degree in an appropriate professional security qualification (such as CISSP) and previous experience in an IT security position for at least 5 years.
The successful candidate will be :
Designated technical authority and subject matter expert with overall responsibility for the protection of information assets and to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information within the organisation
Responsible for quality assuring the development of the ICT Security provision through the development of technologies, defences, policy, business and strategic planning activities
Providing expert advice on the selection, design, implementation and operation of technology and information controls and security management techniques
Monitoring compliance with information security policies, industry best practice and procedures
Ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to test the effectiveness of security arrangements including implementation of counter-
measures, concessions, and waivers
Providing an informed, independent, and expert advisory capacity for IT security matters and obtaining third-party advice if necessary
Ensuring the environment is as safe and secure as possible, taking ownership of issues and risks
Providing and assuring the quality of regular reports on Information Security including the effectiveness of countermeasures, analysis of reported security incidents and lessons to be learned
identifying opportunities for continual improvement and demonstrating effective management of change within a complex environment
Managing any contentions and interdependencies liaising effectively with The ICT Security manager, project managers, business sponsors and Heads of Service
Preparing reports on the above for the ICT Steering Group(s) and any Committees
