Cats Protection is the organisation dedicated to helping, rescuing, re-homing and supporting cats. With 34 adoption centres and 250 volunteer-
run branches, we help around 190,000 cats and kittens each year.
We are currently recruiting 4 Community Neutering Assistants - two for the region of North West England and two for the region of North London (ideally you will be based near Liverpool and Luton respectively or centrally based in the region and be prepared to travel within it).
These exciting new roles are in our Neutering team and help us fulfil one of the charity's main objectives.
You will be involved in supporting our Community Neutering Officers to deliver our regional neutering projects and initiatives to local communities.
You will be making a real difference to the cats living in some of the most needy areas of the UK, enabling them to lead happier and healthier lives.
Our subsidised neutering campaigns provide financial assistance to much loved pets, as well as strays and feral cats, who are not lucky enough to have an owner to care for them.
You will be assisting with the trapping, neutering and transporting of feral cats, helping recruit and support volunteers, working with stakeholders and facilitating collaboration.
All of our projects have human behaviour change principles embedded within them and this is an important measurement of our work.
Experience of similar work in any environment would be desirable.
The ability to engage with diverse communities at all levels both face to face and via social media is key to this role.
Ideally you will have experience of working within communities or social enterprises and supporting relationships with different types of community groups.
You will need excellent organisational and communication skills and a positive and flexible approach.
You will be able to read a full job description and person specification when you begin the application process, and will be asked to specify whether you are applying for a role in NW England or the North London area.
To reward you we have a pay scheme which provides the opportunity to progress within your pay band, subject to satisfactory performance.
We also offer a range of benefits which include a generous holiday entitlement, a competitive pension offering, a private medical scheme, and a death in service scheme.
Cats Protection is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
